Safeguarding & Child Protection Course - Live training
“Safeguarding Children is everyone’s responsibility” (Care Act 2014)
This course is mandatory for all foster carers and those working with under 18’s. In order to keep children safe key adults need to be able to recognise signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect. It is also vital that the reporting and recording process is fully understood.
Creating and maintaining a culture of safeguarding has a positive impact on supporting looked after children as it helps to prevent future child abuse. This course will give you the key skills in this area.
Learning Aims:
- Understand what to do if you suspect that a child may be abused
- Understand how your role fits into the wider context of safeguarding children
- Identify types of abuse
- Be aware of reporting and legislation
This course is for Foster Carers and Adopters as well as their Supervising Social Workers. It is also suitable for Residential Child Care Workers (RCCW) and residential team managers from mainstream, short-breaks and outreach services.
