Description

Social care professionals may not need presentation skills in the traditional sense, but they're not just beneficial, they're essential. Through this course, we will explore the following:

  • Communicating with Clients: Social care practitioners must explain complex topics to clients, such as benefits programs or health conditions. It is crucial to present information clearly and tailor it to the client's understanding level.
  • Working with Families: Social care practitioners may need to present information to families about a client's situation or care plan. This topic can be sensitive, so clear and empathetic communication is essential.
  • Advocacy and Awareness: Social care practitioners sometimes advocate for their clients or raise awareness about social issues. Presentation skills are essential for creating compelling presentations for conferences, community meetings, or fundraising events.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Social care practitioners often collaborate with other professionals. Effectively conveying information in team meetings or training sessions helps ensure everyone is on the same page.

Strong presentation skills can make social care practitioners more effective communicators, essential for building rapport, providing support, and achieving positive outcomes for their clients.

Need more time?

We recognise that sometimes groups need more time for discussions and group work. This can mean that a two-hour session is just not long enough to explore the curriculum and engage in question and answer sessions. So we are you offering the opportunity to extend the session by an hour to allow your trainees the chance to explore the curriculum fully!
