Managing Challenging Behaviour

£15.00

Description

There are many reasons why looked after children and young people can present different types of challenging behaviours. It is vital that we have strategies for responding to and managing these behaviours. This training considers what challenging behaviour is and how we can react to different types of behaviours in different ways. This course assists carers and social care staff to understand the complexities of negative behaviour. It enables us to assess and understand the underlying needs, which can then be addressed through the promotion of alternative, constructive interventions.

First, this training explores past experiences which may have influenced challenging behaviour. We then focus on the positive experiences we can provide young people to help build resilience and manage their reactions to challenging situations.

Need more time?

We recognise that sometimes groups need more time for discussions and group work. This can mean that a two-hour session is just not long enough to explore the curriculum and engage in question and answer sessions. So we are you offering the opportunity to extend the session by an hour to allow your trainees the chance to explore the curriculum fully!
