Conversations for Change (with Curiosity from PACE) (4/5) (Zoom)

From: £370.00 3 hours

Description

Embark on an exciting and impactful journey as we delve into Conversations for Change with Curiosity training. This is a dynamic, respectful, and effective experiential practice session underpinned by robust theory. Curiosity is a potent tool for intervention with young people, enabling a deeper comprehension of diverse viewpoints and propelling meaningful transformation.

This course incorporates teachings from Dr. Marshall Rosenberg's "Nonviolent Communication" and Dr. Stephen Rollnick's "Motivational Interviewing" to provide you with effective communication techniques for building genuine connections with others, especially in emotionally challenging situations.

Throughout the course, you will gain practical resources and strategies for demonstrating your therapeutic engagement using the covered techniques. Additionally, we provide recording methods that can help you effectively showcase your work to Ofsted and other partner agencies. Don't miss this opportunity to enhance your communication skills and make a real impact!

Ensure that you have completed the PACE Foundations course beforehand.

Why is Curiosity important?

  • Curiosity as a Catalyst: Participants are encouraged to approach conversations with genuine curiosity, seeking to understand rather than judge. This fosters Empathy, respect, and a willingness to engage in thoughtful dialogue.
  • Open-Ended Questions: Open-ended questions encourage deeper exploration of ideas and perspectives. This helps to move beyond surface-level discussions and delve into more meaningful conversations.
  • Active Listening: Participants are taught active listening techniques to ensure they fully understand others' perspectives. This involves paying attention, asking clarifying questions, and reflecting on what others have said.
  • Respectful Communication: Conversations for Change emphasises the importance of respectful communication, even when there are disagreements. Participants learn to express their own views while acknowledging and valuing the perspectives of others.
  • Collaborative Problem-Solving: The training helps participants develop skills for collaborative problem-solving, focusing on finding common ground and working together to address challenges.

Benefits of the Training

  • Improved Communication Skills: Participants develop stronger communication skills, including active listening, Empathy, and respectful dialogue.
  • Enhanced Understanding of Diverse Perspectives: The training helps participants better understand and appreciate different viewpoints, leading to greater tolerance and inclusivity.
  • Increased Collaboration: Participants learn to work together more effectively, fostering collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive Social Change: Conversations for Change can contribute to positive social change by addressing challenging issues and finding solutions by promoting open and respectful dialogue.

Need more time?

We recognise that sometimes groups need more time for discussions and group work. This can mean that a two-hour session is just not long enough to explore the curriculum and engage in question and answer sessions. So we are you offering the opportunity to extend the session by an hour to allow your trainees the chance to explore the curriculum fully!
